1064 reviewsAmbleside Townhouse is a luxury boutique bed and breakfast with onsite parking located in the heart of Ambleside just 200m from local pubs, restaurants and other amenities providing the perfect base for exploring the Ambleside and the wonderful Lake District.
The Townhouse is perfectly located for access to the shores of Lake Windermere at Waterhead Bay where you can gain access to boats that cruise up and down the lake to Bowness and beyond.
All fifteen rooms at the property are decorated to an extremely high standard and boast ensuite bathrooms, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi. The rooms themselves consist of doubles, twins and family room that can sleep up to four guests. Five of the rooms are also dog friendly which must be book in advance subject to availability.
Breakfast at Ambleside Townhouse served in the modern and bright breakfast room offers an array of fresh local produce to set you up for the day ahead from a cooked breakfast to cereals, breads, fruits, and yoghurts.
With the Lake District being a haven for walkers and cyclists we can provide secure storage for bikes and a drying room if the weather is not favourable. Overall, Ambleside Townhouse is the perfect base when visiting and exploring the Lake District for a short break or a longer stay with family and friends.

If you are travelling from the south, leave the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A590, then A591 towards Kendal and Windermere. Ambleside Townhouse is on Lake Road in the centre of Ambleside.
If you are arriving from the north, leave the M6 at Junction 40 at Penrith and follow the A66 to Keswick and then take the A591 to Ambleside, Ambleside Townhouse lies in the centre of town, just follow the main road through and we are on the right hand side before the Petrol Station.
The West Coast main line from London to Glasgow stops at Oxenholme, the Lake District. From here, you can catch a connecting train to Windermere station. Both stations are well served by taxis or local buses. Frequent buses run to and from Ambleside to all main villages and hubs within the lake District with the main bus stops a short walk from the Townhouse.
