Great North Swim

The Great North Swim is the UK’s biggest open-water swimming event - a weekend-long celebration of open water swimming in Windermere taking place on 9 – 11 June 2023.

Expect stunning scenery, the best of local food and drink, outdoor activities, culture, art, history and thousands of like-minded people coming together. Think of it more as an open water adventure than a race.

There are plenty of distances to choose from, so whether you’re looking to test your stamina over a longer distance challenge or you’re brand new to the open water, you can pick between the following: 250 metres, ½ mile, 1 mile, 2 miles, 5k or 10k. The swim events are ideal for all levels and abilities, and with a buzzing event village and plenty of on-site activities to enjoy at Brockhole – it’s a great family day out too!
