World’s Biggest Liar

We all appreciate the truth, but once a year in Cumbria we like to host a festival of fibs, where the winner is crowned the World’s Biggest Liar. Held every November at the Bridge Inn in Santon Bridge, the competition has its roots in the 19th century, when publican Will Ritson was renowned for serving up a yarn with every pint. Everyone is welcome to try their hand at dissembling the truth – everyone but politicians from Westminster, who are considered professionals at this particular task, and this is a competition strictly for amateur fibbers!
