If you a fan of marmalade, you really have to visit The Marmalade festival at Dalemain. The festival takes place each year over a weekend in May. Saturday is the main celebration day which begins with the announcement of the category winners and Best in Show.
The Marmalade Festival includes:
- Marmalade Question Time: Have you got into a sticky situation with your marmalade making? This is a fantastic opportunity to put any marmalade question to an expert panel.
- Homemade marmalade display: Most popular at the festival is the opportunity to see all the entries in the homemade marmalade category.
- The opportunity to sample (and buy) some of the best marmalades in the world. There’s a selection of Gold and Double Gold marmalades from the Artisan and B&B category and a final chance to buy some of last year’s Best in Show
Each year, the event raises a huge amount for charity and to date has raised over £270,000 for charity.
At the heart of the Festival is Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens, where thousands of homemade competition Marmalades are displayed in the state rooms in all their glory and the best artisan Marmalades in the world are available to taste for FREE and to buy.
