Owned and operated by the McGuire family for over 40 years, the Bridge Hotel Building has been on site in Buttermere for over 1000yrs. First licensed 1735 as a coaching inn, the hotel is nestled between two amazing lakes: Buttermere and Crummock, The Bridge Hotel is perfect as the base for keen and avid walkers and the more casual adventurers. Surrounded by famous peaks, Haystacks, Red Pike and Great Gable, it’s no wonder why Alfred Wainwright himself spent so much time here.
Arrival times for Check-ins are between 15.00 - 23.00. Unfortunately, children under 7 years are unable to eat in dining room except for breakfast. Road conditions must be taken into consideration when choosing route to hotel. Fishing, rowing and sailing/paddle boards are available on the lakes, though no powered crafts.
