Based in the pretty village of Hawkshead, Lakeland Hideaways have been providing great places to stay across the Lake District with friendly customer service for 27 years. We have more than 60 fantastic cottages to choose from throughout the region, catering for visitors of all kinds with properties ranging from cosy cottages for two to large lakeside houses ideal for big get-togethers.

Our properties are chosen not only for their quality and comfort but also their location. You’ll find stunning views just footsteps from your cottage or even from the garden, looking out onto timelessly beautiful spots such as Tarn Hows, Lake Windermere and Coniston Water. Whether you want to relax and soak up the sights, or you’re ready for adventure and tackling the Lake District’s famous fells, our self-catering cottages are the perfect places to base your holiday.

We have a wide range of cottages to suit every need, including cottages perfect for family breaks and a collection where dogs are welcome too. If you’re feeling spontaneous, you can even book one of our last-minute cottages and experience the Lake District just days later. Many of our cottages also come with added features to make your stay extra-special, including bubbling hot tubs, games rooms the kids will love, and warming open fires perfect for cosy nights in.

Each of our properties is also personally inspected by an experienced property manager, meaning you’ll be guaranteed an enjoyable stay with us in the Lake District.
