You are here: Home > Accommodation > Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge
A fabulous traditional inn at the heart of the picturesque village of Pooley Bridge, next to Lake Ullswater. Home-cooked food and cask ales served in the cosy bar or outdoors on the large sun terrace overlooking the river. Stay over in one of the 17 cosy guest rooms.
The Crown re-opened in spring 2017 following a complete re-development by Thwaites, an award-winning hospitality business who are also known as pretty good brewers too.
The downstairs area of the pub has been totally transformed, whilst keeping all the charm and character with real fires and cosy nooks and crannies. However the biggest change has been the creation of an outdoor 2 tier terrace to the sheltered rear of the building, where guests can enjoy unrivalled views of the River Eamont and Lake Ullswater. Food is all home-cooked with the emphasis on hearty dishes to satisfy appetites worked up on the hills, and the range of cask ales, wines by the glass and spirits will quench any thirst.
The Crown Inn, Pooley Bridge is open for business; bridge improvement work is due to start in September 2019 and we'll add further updates as the project happens.
