Glenridding Manor House, a regency villa described in the Unesco world heritage documentation with associated lakeshore walk. Our most famous visitor was Charles Darwin and his family who spent five weeks holiday at Glenridding Manor House in the Summer of 1881. He stated "this place is magnificently beautiful." Darwin also liked walking to Cannon Crag a short stroll from the house.
Following an extensive restoration Glenridding Manor House reopened as an exclusive boutique B&B 10 years ago. This sublime unique lakeshore house has unrivalled lakeshore views only 10 metres from the shore. Listen to the ripling waves from within your en suite bedroom or suite. We are sure you will have found the ambience, quality and perfect location for your short break, be it a birthday, anniversary or proposal or any other special visit.
We also provide for bespoke small civil ceremonies within the lounge or lakeshore gazebo.
