To mark our 150th anniversary, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is giving away a ‘Ruth Cream Tea on the Move’ experience!

Originally built in 1873 and commercially opened in 1875, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway continues to captivate visitors with its unique heritage steam engines and beautiful scenery. The lucky winner will embark on a scenic journey from the coastal village of Ravenglass aboard our beautifully crafted carriage, 'Ruth'. Traverse alongside the estuaries of three rivers before striking views of England's highest mountains unfold as you approach Dalegarth station in remote Eskdale.

Indulge in a delicious cream tea on board, featuring a selection of sandwiches, baked delights, and scones, accompanied by tea or coffee served in a souvenir cup.

After exploring Dalegarth, return to your carriage and journey back to Ravenglass, carrying cherished memories of your experience.

3. Dietary Requirements: Please inform us of any dietary requirements when arranging your visit. Our cream tea includes tea or coffee served in a souvenir cup, along with a selection of sandwiches, quiche, and sausage rolls. You'll also enjoy scones with butter, jam, and clotted cream, as well as a variety of cakes. Please note that product offerings may vary and are subject to availability. A picture of the souvenir cup is not provided.
4. The prize is valid between April and October 2025. Subject to availability. Please see the timetable on our website for further details.
5. Eligibility: This competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except employees of Lake District Estates, their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected with the competition.
6. Entry: To enter, fill out the online entry form below. Entries must be made using the official online entry form. No purchase is necessary. Multiple entries per person are not permitted.
7. Prize: One winner will receive a ‘Ruth Cream Tea on the Move’ experience for two people.
   The successful entrant will receive:
   - A return journey on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in the 'Ruth' Directors’ Saloon premium carriage.
   - A cream tea for two people on board the train.
   - Two souvenir cups.
   - The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
8. Winner Selection: The winner will be selected at random by Cumbria Tourism from all valid entries.
   The winner will be notified by email within one week of the draw closing.
   The winner may be required to provide proof of identity.
