These unique farm photography workshops or tours give both professional and amateur photographers access to subjects that are normally out of reach.
Join us to enjoy a variety of environments and situations in truly stunning settings, all under the guidance of Amy Bateman, British Life Photographer of the Year and Forty Farms Creator. You can capture livestock, working collies, vintage tractors, gates, stone walls, traditional hedgerows and corners of old and new barns, waiting for you to discover and capture them in your own style.
Explore Amy’s farm during lambing time, with your wellies on, the tour potters around the farm to discover delights that are ready to capture with whatever camera you own. We get up close with the lambs, hidden corners, and beautiful landscapes. A hot Cumbrian Farmhouse lunch is provided at Amy’s farm before you head out again for the afternoon capturing sheepdogs in action, portraits of the Herdwicks and maybe a vintage tractor. At the end of the day, you can enjoy reviewing your images with some refreshments before heading home.
You’re also welcome to enjoy our glamping pods and stay for longer, for more info visit: https://croftfootfarm.co.uk/
Our ‘Farms and Tarns’ workshop is based at Yew Tree Farm – Beatrix Potter’s iconic Lakeland farm. This workshop gives you access to the iconic Herdwick sheep in the morning, watching them being shepherded, then getting up close to these character-full animals and the traditional farm buildings too. In the afternoon (please bring a packed lunch), we will enjoy a gentle wander around Yew Tree Tarn and capture the picturesque woodland around it.
The ‘Fells and Farms’ workshop is based at Glencoyne on the shores of Ullswater. This tour also gives you access to the iconic Herdwick sheep in the morning, watching them being shepherded, then getting up close to these character-full animals and some Fell Ponies too. In the afternoon (please bring a packed lunch), we will climb Gowbarrow Fell to enjoy exceptional views across Ullswater, Red Screes and Helvellyn.
Our 3 hour beginners workshops are based in the studio on Amy’s farm or other local venues, introducing you to photography using phones or digital cameras. Covering Composition, the use of light, photographing children and animals, editing and top tips – your images will instantly be better after receiving Amy’s guidance.
