Tripadvisor Traveller Rating
376 reviewsNestled in the heart of Graythwaite Estate, 5,000 acres of managed woodland, parkland and lake frontage, is our magical bushcraft base where we love to welcome those seeking a real outdoor experience.
Our bushcraft experiences are relaxed, fun and informative. Following introductions, you’ll head into the woods whilst chatting about the local surroundings, the estate and natural habitat. You’ll focus on three outdoor survival essentials: shelter, fire and food. You’ll learn how to make a fire in the outdoors to boil the ghillie kettle for hot drinks enjoyed with toasted marshmallows and lip-smackingly good s’mores around the campfire. Nothing makes us happier than sharing the natural beauty of the estate with guests. This is a real digital detox, where tech and time is forgotten, quality time is spent with family or friends, and you’ll leave having learned some new skills. This is an immersive experience for guests of all ages; it’s interactive and you’ll take the lead with expert guidance from one of our team.
Guests to Graythwaite Adventure can enjoy a variety of other awesome experiences; 4x4 off-road driving, clay pigeon shooting, archery, and axe throwing all year round, and RIB boat tours April to October.
Experience : Explore : Escape.
Upon arrival at our 4x4 and Shooting Site, please make use of our free parking before meeting with one of our team. Following introductions, you’ll head on foot into the woods to the bushcraft base. The experience will include the essentials of outdoor survival; shelter, fire and food, with plenty of chat, practical experiences and learnings shared. As with all our activities, we only offer private experiences meaning we don’t mix bookings, which allows us to concentrate on you and your guest(s) exclusively. Minimum guaranteed numbers are 3 guests, and we offer a 2-hour experience, or a combined 4x4 off-road driving & mini bushcraft experience too.
