Tripadvisor Traveller Rating
377 reviewsNestled in the heart of Graythwaite Estate, on the southwest shore of Windermere, is our shooting site where we love to welcome first timers and experienced shots alike.
We specialise in running relaxed sessions in a fun and informative environment. Following an introduction by your instructor there'll be a briefing on all-important safety and gun mounting before we move on to hitting clays. We’ve a great track record for advancing novices through to consistently breaking a variety of targets and nothing makes us happier than seeing guests succeed.
We offer two tuition packages; a 25-shot and a 50-shot experience. With most first timers, we'd recommend 25 shots and for those more experienced, 50 shots and an increased variety of targets is a great choice.
Shelter, should we need it, is provided by the shooting lodge and adjoining wooden gazebo. Guests can spectate from the picnic tables or around the roaring fire pit in the winter months.
The minimum age is 8 years however some juniors aren't comfortable with gun handling at this age, so we suggest that parents are best placed to make a judgement on this.
Guests to Graythwaite Adventure can enjoy a variety of other awesome experiences; 4x4 off-road driving, archery, axe throwing and bushcraft all year round, and RIB boat tours April to October.
Experience : Explore : Escape.
Upon arrival at our 4x4 and Shooting Site, please make use of our free parking before meeting with one of our team. Following introductions and the all-important safety briefing, we’ll go through gun mounting, movement, tracking and how to hit the clays. 1:1 tuition is tailored to suit individuals accordingly, from those that haven’t held a gun before to the more experienced shots. It’s vital to us that everyone in your party gets the very most out of their time with us. As with all our activities, we only offer private experiences meaning we don’t mix bookings, which allows us to concentrate on you and your guest(s) exclusively. For 2 guests, please allow an hour, for 4 guests up to 1.5 hours approximately and longer for 5 or more.
