Lake District Music - Summer Festival - 26th July to 4th August 2024.
For almost 40 years the world’s finest classical musicians have performed in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District. Every summer they head to Cumbria for a festival like no other in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From string quartets to jazz and baroque specialists to world music, there’s an incredible selection to choose from. But it’s not just about listening to today’s leading musicians, this is the place to get a first glimpse of the next big thing.
The 2024 festival will open with a performance by one of the world’s greatest gospel choirs - London Adventist Chorale. Other performers include pianist Kathryn Stott, Brodsky String Quartet, Aurora Percussion Duo, James Pearson Jazz Trio, Northern Chamber Orchestra as well as up-and-coming classical stars making their festival debuts.
The festival will also include walks in the wondrous Lake District countryside, workshops, family music activities and much more.
Locations include Ambleside, Barrow, Coniston, Grange-over-Sands, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Ulverston and Windermere.
