Get the most out of your trip to the Lakes with a private guided walk tailored to your requirements, whether you want a challenging hike into the high hills or a gentle introduction to the area. If it’s your first time in the area, you’re looking to get off the beaten track, are new to hiking, or simply want to learn a bit more about the area, we can plan a guided walk to suit you.
All of our guided walks are led by Muddy Boots’ co-founder, Matt, a qualified hiking guide, who can plan the route to fit in with your requirements for distance, difficulty and location and with your interests. A guided walk can give you a really good introduction to the history and geology of the Lake District, as well as taking in some of the most beautiful scenery the Lake District has to offer!
As an example, one of our favourite walks as an introduction to the area is the circuit of the Great and Little Landale Valleys. It is a wonderfully varied day’s walking in the central Lake District. The route has a real ‘in the hills’ feel, without having to climb too high! It also takes in two sparkling tarns, pretty woodland, an old slate quarry to explore (including a look into the famous Cathedral Cavern), probably the Lake District’s most picturesque packhorse bridge, and lots of stunning views in between! For some more inspiration, please have a look at our website for a selection of our favourite walks.
Costs vary depending on specific details but guide prices are:
• A half day walk (3 hours) - £100 for a group of up to six people;
• A longer walk (6 hours) - £150 for a group of up to six people.
