Tripadvisor Traveller Rating
596 reviewsThere is no doubt that a visit to the award winning Walby Farm Park is the place to be for bucket loads of fun inside and out! With activities galore, delicious homemade food, a bit of retail therapy in the gift shop, and – best of all – the chance to make a magical connection with animals.
You’ll encounter farmyard favourites – cute and cuddly, big and small. Our fun and interactive sessions include meeting the rabbits and guinea pigs, pony grooming, goat racing, ferret shows, hand feeding and milking demonstrations. The Animal Paddocks and Animal Barn are full of interesting finds and there’s plenty of information to help visitors of all ages learn as they go.
Play!
There’s acres of room to let off steam – 30 to be exact – and rain or shine we have indoor and outdoor options to keep all ages entertained.
Our Indoor Adventure Play Barn is fun for all ages, with a dedicated area for little ones, and the 24-foot Demon Drop Slide (for daring adults as well as children!) to the huge range of options outside – including our JCB Diggers, Pedal Tractors, Swings, Trampolines and Go-Karts – you really can spend a full day playing!
For more undercover play, there is our newest attraction – Milecastle62, a three-level Roman fort that is fully covered to withstand any Cumbrian storm that comes our way. Clamber the wooden walls, climb ropes and slopes to the top turrets, balance along tree trunk beams, descend to ground level by slide or pole or dare to crawl through the top-level transparent tunnel. There is also a fully accessible ramp up to the main Milecastle LXII structure and lookout point and a designated under 3s area – the Barbarian Village.
Eat!
When you’re having fun and burning off energy it’s vital to refuel and The Cowshed Café is just the place during your visit. Our family-friendly menu is packed with freshly made, locally-sourced dishes for all appetites. Delicious hot and cold homemade food is served daily from 10am-5pm.
If you’re looking for elevensies or afternoon tea, then our fabulous home baking is just the thing – perfect for savouring over a choice of locally-roasted coffees while taking in the stunning countryside.
Shop!
The Walby Farm Park Gift Shop, “The Gift Shed” has been stocked with farm and countryside lovers in mind. Our range of toys, books and gifts is complemented by a hand-picked selection of children’s clothing, which can be handy if you’ve forgotten any essential items for your visit!
Special Events!
From time to time we run special events during school holidays and on special occasions, such as Pumpkin Picking, Sunflowers, Bonfire Night and of course Christmas.
