The Ullswater Caravan, Camping & Marine Park welcomes both touring caravans and tents, it is not only an ideal base for exploring the Lake District and Cumbria but also a great location for a relaxing break in journeys to or from Scotland.
Our rural setting gives plenty of space (including parking alongside pitches) as well as woodland shelter and screening. The facilities available to visitors include:
• Hot water (at no extra cost but as available).
• Wash basins with multi-shaver points.
• Toilets & Showers - upper building now with heating.
• Coin-operated laundry.
Children of all ages are made particularly welcome at the park and we have an extensive (half-acre) playground in the centre of the site.
Our self-service general store has everything you are likely to need during your stay and during the busiest months, our on-site licensed bar is available to visitors from 20:00.
Our park also offers self catering with cottages & static caravans for hire, along with camping cabins.
For walkers, cyclists and tourists, the Park backs on to the fells, with the Helvellyn range, Raise and the Dodds behind us and the High Street Ridge and Howtown across the lake. These fells offer walkers plenty of choice, from strenuous climbs to lakeside rambles. The regular "Ullswater Steamers" makes access to other points on the lake much easier.
Nearby attractions include the gardens at Dalemain, The Rheged Visitors Centre also the National Trust walks at Aira Force waterfalls and the Theatre by the Lake situated at Keswick.
There are plenty of facilities locally for adventures such as horse riding, GPS navigation training and quad bike trekking as well as gentler pursuits like golf, tennis and bowls.
The nearest market town is Penrith, just a 20-minute drive away, which has attractive and varied shops, a leisure centre with swimming pool, a museum, castle and numerous galleries and cafes.
Lake access 1 mile for boating, fishing etc.
