Climbing with Abseiling
A visit to either a local crag or Keswick Climbing Wall where you will be introduced to basic skills enabling you to reach the top of climbs which become increasingly harder as you gain in experience and confidence. Then, once at the top, you will abseil down, ready to start again.
Ghyll Scrambling
Once you have all your kit on, an Instructor will walk you to the head of a mountain stream and then lead you on a wet decent of the ghyll; leaping off waterfalls, sliding down through plunge pools and generally getting very wet!! Suitable for non swimmers as long as they are confident in the water.
Canoeing
Canoes are the boats which can seat two or three people together and have a single ended paddle. After some instruction on basic paddle strokes and safety, you will head out to explore Derwentwater, maybe visiting an island or two.
Kayaking
Kayaks are the single seated boats with a double ended paddle and after some instruction on basic paddle strokes and safety, you will head out to explore Derwentwater, maybe visiting an island or two.
Archery
After a safety briefing and some instruction on basic skills, you will soon be going for gold in this most ancient of sports. An ideal option for the less energetic but one that is full of skill and concentration.
Orienteering
Starting with an introduction to map work, you will soon be finding your way around the local area looking for hidden points.
Mountain Biking
Explore the Lakeland fells on two wheels. After an introduction to riding techniques, you will be led on a route suited to your groups ability.
Mountain Walking
A full or half day exploring the surrounding fells, led by an instructor on a route to suit your groups ability and the weather.
