£65 plus £5 for materials
Stone surrounds us at Farfield Mill, in the walls and forming the bed of the river but also in the wider landscape. We will create a small woven tapestry inspired by the surroundings of the Mill, after taking a short stroll down to the bridge (weather permitting), looking at the shapes, textures, and patterns around us. We will then return to the workroom via the exhibitions and explore how we can weave stone in simple ways, or, if you have woven before, we can look at specific approaches such as shape building, line, and colour blending. Suitable for beginners and improvers. Bring your own equipment if you have it, but there will also be looms warped up ready to go and a range of weft yarn for you to use. Additional equipment will be available for sale, should you wish to continue weaving after the workshop day (up to around £70).
