The Apple Restaurant, an AA Rosette restaurant located within Applegarth Villa Hotel in the heart of Windermere Village and is open to non-residents too. The seasonal menu created by our head chef Ross Bowman, utilises the best of Cumbrian produce. We’re so pleased to announce Ross has gained an AA Rosette in May 2024. The restaurant is open Tuesday - Saturday inclusively and offers a variety of spaces to dine - the restaurant with views over to the fells, the bar and the snug. Each have the choice of tables or booths. Our new bar menu offers relaxed dining in the bar or the terrace on sunny evenings.
Our afternoon tea menu is served Tuesday - Saturday and is full of delicious sweet and savoury treats. Our afternoon tea experience can be enjoyed in the restaurant, bar or terrace, the choice is yours!
You'll also love our new cocktail and mocktail menus and remember, we're open to non-residents too for afternoon tea, evening & bar meals and drinks in our restaurant, in the bar and on the terrace.

Road Directions
From the North or South, leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 and take the A591 signposted towards Windermere. After about 4 miles you will come to a large roundabout, simply head straight on, again signposted towards Windermere. After about 8 miles you will come into Windermere. Turn left into Elleray Road, which is just after the National Westminster Bank, then take the first right into College Road. You will find the Applegarth Villa about 50 yards along College Road on the right hand side. We have a private car park available at the rear of the property. For Sat Nav please use LA23 1BU
Public Transport Directions
Windermere Bus Station and Windermere Train Station are both just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Windermere also has numerous taxi companies to enable travel where buses and trains are not available.
