The Glasshouse at Another Place
About
The Victorian-style Glasshouse, created by Hartley Botanic, sits in the gardens – the closest building to the lake shore – as a focal point for hotel guests. It is next to the vegetable patch which supplies produce for Glasshouse chefs, and grows some edible plants inside – from tomato vines to fresh herbs. Guests can have coffee, drinks and woodfired pizzas, and join creative workshops in this flexible space.
Pizza toppings include buffalo mozzarella, Cumbrian ham, chestnut mushroom and salami; whipped up by pizza chef Florin, and finished with homegrown herbs from the vegetable patch. Non-resident guests of the hotel are welcome; no bookings needed. There is a small terrace outside, for making the most of the lake and mountain views in fine weather.

Road Directions
At junction 40 on the M6, take the A66 exit to Penrith/ Workington/ Brough. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A66. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A592. After 4.7 miles turn left and the hotel is on the left.
Public Transport Directions
The nearest train station to the hotel is Penrith. A short 15 minute taxi ride can bring you to the hotel doors.
The nearest airports are Manchester, Newcastle or Liverpool. The hotel is just over a two hour drive from these airports and further transport would be needed to bring you to the hotel door in form of a taxi transfer or train and taxi.
