Join our award-winning club and experience the joy of sailing on Ullswater, Cumbria’s ‘loveliest of lakes.’* We are less than two miles from Pooley Bridge on the quieter eastern side of the lake and our spacious site has stunning views over the water. We are a friendly club welcoming anyone with an interest in sailing. The club is keen to encourage youngsters to go afloat and has a thriving junior fleet. Whether it’s an introduction to sailing, RYA training, leisure sailing or competitive racing, we have it all. We can help you and your family to learn to sail at our Ullswater Sailing School which is an RYA Training Establishment with a fleet of dinghies and fully qualified instructors. Many of them grew up at the club, were themselves taught to sail there and enjoy passing their enthusiasm for sailing on the lake to others. Ullswater Sailing School has its own website which is full of information about the courses and taster sessions on offer to visitors, and you can book online. It’s at www.ullswatersailingschool.com Ullswater Yacht Club is more than just a club, it is a wonderful place to be. It is surrounded by beautiful fells with good access for walking and mountain biking. Join us and you will be part of the ‘UYC family’, members of ages and abilities who have a common bond - the love of sailing at the club and the lifestyle that it offers.
* Alfred Wainwright described Ullswater as ‘that loveliest of lakes curving gracefully into the far distance.’
