"Little Engineers' Day" with Chris Vine and a special Halloween-themed storytelling event.
Our Young Engineers will meet author Chris Vine at Ravenglass and experience a railway adventure 'behind the scenes'. We will be visiting the steam engine running shed and our engineering workshop to piece together how a steam engine operates, taking turns to pull the levers in the signal box and enjoying a trip up the sidings on the footplate. In the early afternoon, we will be moving over to the museum for storytime about 'The Ghost Train'. Afterwards, everyone can head up the line on an adventure of their own.
What's included: signed 'Peter's Railway' book for each child and return railway ticket on the day for participants.
Event starts 10am – finishes approx. 13.30. Participants then have the afternoon free to travel up the line as part of the event ticket departing Ravenglass at 13.50 and returning on 15.10. Extra tickets can be purchased on request for the afternoon railway journey, subject to availability.
Please note lunch is not included in the event
Recommended minimum age of 5 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum 2 children to 1 adult). Tickets must be booked in advance.
