Do you want to gain more confidence in your mountain skills, and in turn enhance your adventures? In this workshop, we'll aim to pass on some vital gems of information, which are ideal for anyone just starting out on their journey in the outdoors.
We'll cover:
Basic navigation and map reading, including having a go at orienteering.
Equipment & what to pack.
Safety in the outdoors - from planning, through to what to do in an emergency.
A basic understanding of UK law when it comes to access rights.
Bring your own lunch or pop into our Boathouse café. It will be in the grounds of Fell Foot, please bring suitable outdoor footwear and waterproofs. Cost £5 per person.
Booking essential.
The session will be no more than 2.5 hours and will include indoor presentations and teaching, as well as lots of time outside to practice those new skills.
