This independent, former YHA, hostel is perfectly situated in the picturesque village of Elterwater, at the heart of the Langdale Valley in the English Lake District.
Providing simple, but comfortable, warm and homely accommodation at a great price, the Elterwater Hostel is an ideal base for cycling, walking and climbing trips to the Lakes, or simply a fantastic spot to escape to for a quiet break!
With 38 beds, and a history of hostelling since 1939, Elterwater is a great choice of accommodation for groups, individuals and families alike. With rooms sleeping two, four and six people, a spacious living and dining area, delicious home cooked meals and a large self-catering kitchen, the hostel is perfect for anybody visiting the Lakes.
Working towards: access/mobility/sight/hearing classification. Minimum age for children 16yrs if unaccompanied.

Junction 36 M6, then A591 from Kendal to Ambleside, A593 from Ambleside to Skelwith Bridge, then take the B543 to Great Langdale and follow signs for Elterwater. Once in Elterwater, continue through the village, past the Britannia Inn on the right hand side, and past the National Trust Car Park on the left and over the bridge. At the end of the bridge, the road forks, turn left and the hostel is around 100m further down, on the right hand side.
