The 5* Langdale Chase is a Lake District Hotel with unbeatable Windermere views. This Victorian villa in is wrapped up in four acres of woodland leading down to lake shores 2 private piers. Its grand interiors, complete with minstrels’ galleries, elaborately carved oak panelling and stained glass, manage to be opulent and yet winningly informal.
There’s a cinema with daily screenings and complimentary popcorn, and bedrooms that are layered with thoughtful touches including binoculars for closer inspection of life on the lake. With 30 such bedrooms, most of which have outstanding lake views, the main hall and numerous lounges with real log fires overlooking the gardens and lake, you can just kick back and relax to read a book.
If you prefer an active stay you can ask one of the Team to arrange a boat trip, either as part of a group or privately by either sail or motor, or take part in one of the many water sports available, try your hand at off roading, shooting, archery or axe throwing or arrange a guided walk. There is also guided walks and garden tours or we can arrange tickets for just one of the many attractions there is to visit in Cumbria. And there is no need to leave your four legged family behind either as dogs are made very welcome too.
Our evening menu is available in the intimacy of the two AA Rosette panoramic Dining Room. Executive Chef Michael Cole creates wonderfully distinctive dishes inspired by the Lake District and its coastline – Herdwick lamb, rare breed cattle, local fish and shellfish as well as local artisan cheeses, come together in the most delicious fashion.
The menu sees new dishes introduced daily and allows us to offer whatever has come off the fells or the boat, celebrating the best of modern British cuisine. Or you may prefer to visit us for lunch or afternoon tea. Whatever your reason to visit, Langdale Chase will make your visit memorable.
