Miles without stiles is a collection of 51 accessible routes around the Lake District National Park for those with or without limited mobility. The routes have 3 grading levels - suitable for 'all', 'many', or 'some', based on gradients and surface conditions.
Some run along river or lakesides, some through woodland areas and some to fell summits, with breathtaking scenery and views along the way.
As the name suggests, these routes do not have any stiles to deal with and many are accessible to wheelchair users, families with prams and pushchairs, people with visual impairment and those who just want easier walks with no climbing of steep hills or scrambling.
The routes can all be found on the Lake District National Park website, under their Miles Without Stiles page. On this page you will find a map showing the locations of the routes and clicking into a particular route brings up detailed information on that route including distance, step-by-step instructions, facilities along the route and a detailed map.
