Morecambe Bay is a great place to explore, with amazing sunsets natural landscapes and one of the most beautiful coastlines in Britain.
Morecambe Bay is a big area which stretches from the south west coast of Cumbria to Fleetwood in Lancashire and along the way you can visit coastal towns such as Grange-over-Sands, Morecambe and Heysham. The headlands of Morecambe Bay offer spectacular, seascape views; with wide-open vistas across the tidal sand and mud flats towards the Lake District and the Bowland Fells.
The Bay also contains a superb array of wildlife, such as oystercatchers and other waders marching up the shore at Hest Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, in front of the advancing tides, to seals lazing around the south tip of Walney.
The Ways Around The Bay project is developing a series of all-ability routes and associated all-terrain mobility scooter hire venues. The aim is to open up parts of Morecambe Bay to a wider range of users from families with pushchairs to wheelchair users, allowing the discovery and exploration of the rich cultural and environmental heritage of the area.
