As EV (Electric Vehicle) sales continue to increase, it looks like this cleaner and greener travel option is on the rise. So, you are all charged up, but where can you go?
Cumbria and the Lake District is well known for its scenic routes and exploring by EV is a great low-carbon alternative. Thanks to funding from the Low Carbon Lake District Project, we have pulled together a range of resources for EV drivers visiting the area.
Our network of public charge points are growing steadily and many of our accommodation providers offer overnight charging, which takes a lot of the anxiety out of exploring. Plus, staying longer helps reduce the carbon footprint of visitor travel to and from the area, minimizing your impact on the fabric of the landscape even more. Check out our interactive map of EV charging points here and if you prefer two wheels, take a look at our list of electric bike charging points here.
We’ve also developed the Lake District’s first EV trail, allowing you to re-charge your batteries in our stunning landscape, in more ways than one! Read a review of the route by the Green Car Guide.
You may leave the Lake District, but once you’ve been, it’ll never leave you.
