With stunning views across Morecambe bay, this shingle island reserve is full of interest and a fantastic place for bird watching. South Walney Nature Reserve is home to the only grey seal colony in Cumbria.
An off-road mobility tramper can be booked in advance by calling 01539 816300; a kind donation of £5 is appreciated for its use.
Please note: during very high tides (above 10.5m) and stormy conditions, the access road may flood and be impassable.
To protect wildlife, there is no access to the beach or seal colony. Please stay on the way marked paths. No dogs (except assistance dogs).
