Yew Tree Farm in Coniston, within the Lake District National Park was built in the late 17th Century and is an iconic building with it's whitewashed farmhouse and famous barn and Spinning Gallery. The farm is owned by the National Trust and tenanted by Jon Watson and his wife Jo McGrath.
Come and visit Yew Tree Farm and learn about Herdwick Sheep. We'll talk to you about the history of our farm, along with the Beatrix Potter connection. We'll also discuss the Herdwick Sheep themselves including their wool and markings, we'll also talk to you about meat production. Your visit will be rounded off by a walk to see our Ambassador Flock of Herdwick Sheep where you will get the chance to interact with, and even hug a Herdwick.
