The Quaker Tapestry is a modern masterpiece made by 4,000 people around the world. Delight in the detail of the stunning needlework and craftsmanship involved in the creation of these vibrant embroideries.
Bring the whole family along for an adventure. With interactive displays, films, toys and fun activities, there is something for everyone. In addition to the Quaker Tapestry you will find other special exhibitions, items from our archive, films and family activities to explore.
The museum is housed in Kendal Friends' Meeting House, a grade II* listed building, designed and built in 1816 by Francis Webster. Built on a site that has been used for Quaker worship for over 300 years the building is regarded as one of the finest Georgian buildings in Cumbria.
