You are here: Home > Things to Do > Sail Windermere on a Beautiful Day Yacht with Anyone Can (Accessible)
Set sail on Windermere: England's longest lake aboard Seapig, a modern classic day yacht.
After leaving the pontoon well get you steering as we glide between the moorings under the power of our silent electric engine and onto the wider lake where it's time to hoist the sails.
This experience is all about learning the ropes, stick and flappy bits with straight-up language and a hands-on approach you and your fellow crew will do the vast majority of the tasks that make the boat work.
You will feel the thrill of the wind driving the sails and heeling the boat over and quickly gain the confidence to relax as she heels over and shoots forwards in gusts: safe in the knowledge that this is one of the most stable sailboats on the lake.
For lunch, we anchor in a bay and have a posh picnic (included) and hot drinks as the other boat pass us by before hoisting the sails and setting off again for home.
Seapig sailing is great for all the family with lots of tasks for all ages to get into, there is a small cabin to keep little ones warm and give them space to play.
We are an inclusive adventure specialist and regularly work with people with mobility, cognitive, communication or sensory impairments.
