About
A superb way to the summit of Skiddaw, which takes in the fine shapely ridge, Longside edge, that extends north from Carl Side and is separated from the main massif by the deep trench of Southerndale. From a distance the crest of Longside Edge looks deceptively narrow, suggesting that there may be some scrambling involved. Closer inspection reveals otherwise - the crest is exposed but walkable. Descent is down the steep grassy ridge that leads northeast to Bakestall and skirts Dead Crags to gain the access track by the impressive waterfall Whitewater Dash.Book Tickets
