Discover the Ecology Gallery, a space dedicated to exploring the stories of our local landscape, ecology, and the impact of human activity on the environment.
More than an exhibition, the Ecology Gallery is a dynamic space featuring interchangeable displays that respond to ongoing debates, community dialogue, and local activism.
Within the space you will find artwork which has been selected in collaboration with Queen Katherine School students. Displayed artists include Emma Stibbon, Elisabeth Frink, John Ruskin, Bryan Kneale and George Shaw.
The gallery serves as a lively hub where young people from schools across Cumbria can engage with social and environmental issues through the lens of art. We aim to foster knowledge, agency and confidence and to inspire visitors to passionately advocate for our planet.
The gallery displays were created in collaboration with designer Matt Kelly from Plaey. Together, we've created a sustainable, zero-waste exhibition system—a pioneering approach in the sector.
Visit the Ecology Gallery today and discover a new way to connect with our environment and community through art.
