SEE, HEAR AND EXPERIENCE THE FINEST CLASSICAL MUSIC
Every July and August the finest musicians head to the serene lake District for a summer festival like no other.
From string quartets to jazz and baroque specialists to world music, there’s an incredible selection to choose from. Alongside the classics we look to the future and encourage our artists to try new things, premiering cross-artform work to present classical music in new and more accessible ways to our audiences.
Painting and drawing to music, pirate adventures and enchanted princesses, we believe music is for everyone which is why we host a series of fun family-friendly events within the festival for everyone to enjoy.
But it’s not just about listening to today’s leading musicians, this is the place to get a first glimpse of the next big thing. We love the energy and passion young musicians bring to their art, and it’s part of our DNA to support them as they start their careers with showcase concerts and masterclasses.
Some of the most exciting talents of their generation have experienced the magic of our summer festival including the likes of violinists Nicola Benedetti, Nikolai Znaider and Jennifer Pike, pianist Steven Osborne, cellist Guy Johnston and the Heath String Quartet to name a few.
The festival takes place across the county with events in Windermere, Kendal, Ambleside, Ulverston, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Barrow, Kirkby Lonsdale, Coniston and more.
Full festival line-up and tickets will be released this spring.
