This is a family-friendly event and free to ticket holders for the Roman Army Museum.
How do we know about the people, animals and plants who lived before us at the ancient site of Magna Fort? What food were they eating and what insects were a part of everyday life?
Join us at the Roman Army Museum to learn more about the environmental processing we use to understand the ancient historic landscape. You can get hands on with our environmental soil processing by having a go at floatation, using samples collected during the excavation season. Guided by our Geo-Archaeologist, Franki, this is perfect for those who want to get a taster of the processes involved in our research!
For budding Geo-Archaeologists in training, there will be a Make Your Own Floatation Jar station, where you can create your very own soil processing jar to take home.
