Illuminate: Festival of Ideas is coming to Kirkby Lonsdale from 8-23 February 2025.
Enjoy dozens of events in venues across town over an unforgettable fortnight of performances, debates, experiences, films and workshops.
We're welcoming authors William Fiennes and Anthony McGowan (Sat 22 Feb), as well as geneticist and TV host Dr Adam Rutherford (Tue 18 Feb) to our speakers stage.
If you crave drama, we have magic (Great Baldini Sat 8 Feb), horror (The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Sat 15 Feb) and mystery (Bluebird, Sun 23 Feb).
Film buffs can explore our 'Made in Britain' film programme, including The Personal History of David Copperfield (Sun 9 Feb), Wicked Little Letters (Thu 13 Feb) and Polite Society (Tue 11 Feb).
Music lovers are well served with live performances from Beautiful South tribute band Beautiful Mind (Fri 14 Feb) and Americana-folk-blues act Ben Reel (Fri 21 Feb).
We also have a variety of workshops, yoga sessions and participation events, so you can dip your toe into a new experience. How about joining us for a 'True Stories' open mic night (Mon 10 Feb) or why not come stargazing with us (Wed 19 Feb)!
Half-term week brings a new – free – children's activity each weekday, including craft sessions, drama workshops, storytelling and circus skills activities.
We hope to challenge, provoke and entertain audiences with a variety of events for all ages.
