Embroidery doesn't just have to be on a fabric base – many other materials can be used instead, adding a new and exciting dimension to embroidered artwork. This creative and inspiring textile art workshop exploring hand embroidery on unusual and innovative materials will teach you how to embroider directly into wood, metal, paper and more. This whole day workshop will take you through the processes and techniques used when embroidering on to unusual materials. There will be lots of samples to intrigue and inspire you when creating your own textile artwork. The morning will be spent creating a series of mini samples to fully explore the techniques, learning what can and what can't be done when embroidering on unusual materials. The afternoon is dedicated to creating you own unique textile artwork, with lots of help and support along the way.
