An opportunity to hear the extraordinarily talented young violinist Leora Cohen perform Sibelius' violin concerto. The Westmorland Orchestra will also be playing Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, known as the "Pathetique." The composer called it his "passionate" overture but the translation reduced this, somewhat... come and hear and decide what you think. Also on the programme is Weber's Der Freischutz Overture which gives a synopsis of the opera plot through massive orchestral swells and mood changes.
All this in the beautiful Kendal parish church under the baton of Melvin Tay - see you there!
