589 reviewsSet in the heart of the English Lake District, our award-winning, family-run park is one of Britain's most spectacular scenic sites.
Our elevated position provides wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding fells and offers pleasant woodland walks to Derwentwater and the beautiful market town of Keswick.
Sympathetically developed from a Lakeland farm, our modern facilities include a shop, gallery, campers kitchen and lounge.
Touring pitches are on hardstanding, many fully serviced and some with a lake view. Camping is mainly on sloping ground with a few more level areas. Pre-booking advised.
The shop offers a wide range of locally-sourced produce, gifts, camping accessories and an off-licence.
Castlerigg Gallery, has a range of gifts and landscape photography for sale serves teas coffee and cake. It provides wonderful views of Catbells from the terrace - the perfect place to enjoy the view. Seasonal opening hours apply.
Two of our facility buildings are heated, with eco-friendly air source, underfloor heating, and have been awarded Platinum Plus in 2024 ‘Loo of the Year’ awards. To help reduce our carbon footprint, our shop stocks many local products, and we have recently received conservation awards for hedgerows, wildflowers and woodlands, whilst been recognised for our work in butterfly and bee conservation.
Other facilities include laundrette, battery charging, telephone, gas exchange, ice pack cooling, and tourist information centre at the reception (with free Wi-Fi).
The site is home to ‘Amy, Polo and Joeby’ our miniature Shetland Ponies, ‘Rusty and Dusty’ our miniature Mediterranean donkeys, Pygmy Goats, Ouessant Sheep and Indian Runner Ducks.
A range of Glamping options and Holiday Hire caravans are also available.
Fun Fact: Our park has easy access to Walla Crag, one of the best viewpoints in the Lake District.
We look forward to welcoming you to Castlerigg Hall, set in the heart of the Lakes.
