577 reviewsThe Yewdale Inn is situated in the very centre of Coniston in the heart of the Lake District. A traditional Inn with 9 comfortable en-suite guest rooms, offering a perfect location to explore the area and rest your head after a days walking on the surrounding fells.
Our pub with bar and restaurant seating boasts a selection of local cask ales, great quality wines, and a British pub menu full of classic dishes. On Sunday we serve a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings. We also have an Italian pizzeria and cafe with traditional wood-fired pizza oven. Pizzas are available to takeaway.
Coniston itself is a popular walking destination and is an ideal base in The Lake District. Fishing, sailing, kayaking, cycling and pony trekking are all available on or around Coniston Water and those with energy to spare can tackle the climb up the 2,600’ Old Man of Coniston. The Ruskin Museum in the village celebrates history of Coniston and famous Victorian artist John Ruskin, and there is the steamboat trip that calls off at various points around the beautiful Lake with its stunning views of the Lakeland fells.
