136 reviewsThe Conservatory at the Melbreak offers hotel residents and diners a light, airy and relaxed setting to enjoy exceptional food and beverages, brought to you by our talented catering team and attentive Front of House team members.
Our menu features the very best of local and seasonal produce, and comprises of traditional fayre, delicious a la carte dishes, as well as steaks, chicken and fish from the grill.
After your meal, why not enjoy a cocktail or nightcap in our elegant lounge, or, if the weather is nice, take advantage of the magnificent views of the fells from our garden and terrace.
In addition to lunch and dinner reservations, taking afternoon tea at The Melbreak is just simply divine. Enjoy dainty finger sandwiches, freshly-baked plain and fruit scones with jam and cream, savoury items and sweet mouthfuls of delicious homemade cakes, pastries and mini desserts. Please note we require 48 hours’ notice for all afternoon tea reservations accompanied by full payment on booking.
To make a reservation, simply call the hotel on 01900 61443 or use the online widget to check availability. Large parties are at the discretion of management and restaurant availability and can only be made by calling the hotel directly.

From the south: exit M6 at Junction 40, follow A66 towards Workington, at Bridgefoot roundabout take 1st exit A595, take next junction on right hand side and turn right to reach the hotel. From the east: follow A69 to Brampton. At Brampton bypass, take A689 to Carlisle. From Carlisle, take A595 to Cockermouth then A66 towards Workington. At Bridgefoot roundabout take 1st exit A595, take next junction on right hand side and turn right to reach the hotel. From the north: Take M74 and A74(M6) to Cumbria.
