The Horse and Farrier has an excellent reputation for good food from our hearty Lakeland breakfast to our home cooked meals served in our intimate restaurant or bar. Our menus are interesting and varied making full use of seasonal and local produce freshly prepared in our gleaming kitchen. A growing number of regular diners together with numerous guide book recommendations are testiment to our kitchen team's abilities. Come and enjoy a drink in our convivial bar area with open fires and local chatter.
The Horse and Farrier Inn is in the picturesque village of Threlkeld located just 4 miles east of Keswick. It is ideally located for walking with many different routes starting from the village, along with our award-winning food and ales. Built in 1688, this traditional Lakeland inn with slate-flagged floors, beamed ceilings and open fires, retains all the character you would expect from a building with such a long history. We have ample car parking at both the front and side of the inn, together with a large beer garden with magnificent views of Clough Head and Blencathra.
