Outdoor activities at Rookin House

Archery

Archery is a great activity for a couple of people or a large group to enjoy some fresh air, banter and some healthy competition. We use modern compound bows and under the guidance of your instructor we will soon have you going for gold. If you want to make a half or full days activity you can incorporate Archery with other activities on site including air rifles, clay shooting, horse riding and an array of motorized sports including quad biking and go karting.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

The clay targets are thrown in a great variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations and distances which were devised to simulate live quarry shooting, including springing teal, driven pheasant, crossing pigeon, dropping duck etc. Great fun for both complete beginners and the more accomplished shot. With a couple of practice rounds under your bet you can finish off with a competition. Rookin House can cater for individuals to large groups.

Human Bowling

One player climbs into the ball and is strapped securely into the seat by a body harness. The other players roll the ball at the pins 15ft away. Its ten pin bowling brought to life. Please note Human Bowling is a weather dependant activity therefore we usually have a Plan B in place, please discuss with a team member when booking.

Paintballing

Picture yourself behind enemy lines in the heart of the jungle. With stealth and speed, you advance over hazardous territory towards your target. Paintballing needs wits, courage, careful planning and dedicated teamwork. So let the battle begin! Paintball is particularly popular with groups of friends and corporate events. All safety equipment is provided. You will be briefed and trained by paintball supervisors before battle commences.

Horse Riding

Experience the beauty of the Lakeland countryside and its changing seasons from the back of a horse, we can arrange rides to suit you from 1 hour to a full day. Established over 20 years with over 45 horses to choose from we have the experience and facilities to offer you an amazing ride in wonderful country side. Air Rifles

Our modern rifles are accurate, powerful, light and almost silent. Our range is purpose built where you can sit and take aim in comfort and undercover with an array of targets to test your aim and concentration which include traditional bulls eye, spinner & drop down targets to name a few.
