30 reviewsWelcome to The Queen's Head, a pub with a difference nestled in the heart of Askham, a charming village in the Lake District. As part of the esteemed Askham Collection, our 17th-century village pub with bedrooms offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. With our recent AA accreditation as a 4-star gold inn and an AA Rosette restaurant, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience.
Under the guidance of our talented head chef, Anthony Amos, who honed his skills at the nearby Michelin-starred Allium at Askham Hall, our food offering embodies the essence of the Lake District. Anthony brings refined, creative, and modern touches to our dishes while maintaining the warm and cozy feel of a welcoming country pub. Each bite showcases the flavors of the region and highlights the best seasonal ingredients available.
We have recently undergone a kitchen makeover to accommodate a new state of the art wood fired pizza and a new menu of wood fired pizzas, sides and puddings. The new menu will be dictated by the seasons as many of the pizza topping ingredients – wild garlic, wild mushrooms, chillies, sausages, chicken - will be home-reared and home-grown. It will be served Thursday to Monday from noon through until 7.30pm and there are no bookings, so guests can just turn up.
