Discover the rugged beauty of Cumbria’s coastline in the western part of the Lake District, where the mountains meet the sea. These are Cumbria's heartlands, rich with myths, legends and traditions. Here coastal towns and villages offer all kinds of shoreline adventures, whether it's exploring the Roman and Norse history or the wilder sections of the coast.
Section 3 begins in Haverigg before heading along the A595 towards Ravenglass and passing through lots of interesting little hamlets along the way.
Ravenglass boasts two World Heritage Sites and has plenty of family-friendly attractions to explore and brilliant sunset views across the estuary.
Section 3 then continues on a short journey to the seaside town of Seascale. Stop for an ice cream and explore the stunning beach and walking trails that lead into the nearby countryside.
