Esk Gorge Canyon, Eskdale (Age 14+)
Prepare for extreme Adventure!
Take a walk into the most beautiful and remote location in the Lake District and spend an epic day in the mountains. Overlooked by towering hills, the Esk Gorge is for those on a quest for extreme aquatic adventure! Swim, scramble and jump into the clear emerald-green waters of this gorge. With so many jumps - some up to 8 metres high - this is a day out you'll remember forever.
A very physical day that involves a 45-minute walk into the mountains. You'll carry your wetsuit, safety equipment and lunch. You will change once you arrive at the venue. Our expert guides know the ghylls intimately and will tailor the day to your group offering up loads of fun challenges along the way. All the challenges, jumps, pools and climbs are optional.
This is the ultimate adventure for adrenaline seekers.
Put on one of our high-quality warm wetsuits which are always clean, dry and well-fitted and let us guide you through this beautiful gorge. We provide all the necessary safety equipment and instruction so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the adventure!
We take photos and send them to you FREE at the end so you will have memories you'll remember forever.
Age 14 upwards. A good level of fitness is required for this activity - this is a very physical day.

Before commencing the activity you must contact us with your sizes so we can bring the correct selection of wetsuits
Please provide us with the following:
• Weight
• Height
• T-shirt or Dress size
• For children under 12 just what clothes size they normally wear.
• Shoe size for the wetsuit socks (these go in your shoes)
What to bring:
• A pair of sturdy trainers or walking boots to go into the ghyll with. These need to be able to lace up tight so that they stay on in the moving water. Please note crocs, lightweight water shoes or sandals are not appropriate.
• Swimming costume or shorts for under the wetsuit. ESSENTIAL - Lightweight Jogging bottoms or leggings (not shorts) to go over the wetsuit (to protect the legs of the suit). We have spares if you need them.
• Towel.
• Medication.
• A pair of walking boots or sturdy trainers for the walk into the ghyll (these can be the same pair as you use in the ghyll)
• Waterproof clothing
• Warm Layers
• Lunch and water
Please note: you will need to leave all valuables behind during your session and remove any jewellery, especially rings.
We will meet you in the car park layby where you will pack your bag for the day. It is 45-minute walk from there to the start of the Ghyll. We will change once we arrive at the venue.
Spectators - We do not accept non-participants to accompany group members on this session. There are limited observation points and parts of the bank and surrounding area is a protected environmental site (SSSI). Our ratios of instructor to client are strict and are used both for the activity and the walk in.
Ghyll Scramble and Canyoning, Coniston (Age 14+)
Fun for the whole family!
This aquatic ghyll scramble is situated in a beautiful canyon only a short walk from Coniston.
In its tree-covered steep gorge walls, you will plunge into crystal clear pools and scramble your way up rocky waterfalls. This ghyll has it all!! Deep pools, jumps, scrambles, climbs and slides. Our expert guides know the ghylls intimately and will tailor the day to your group offering up loads of fun challenges along the way. All the challenges, jumps, pools and climbs are optional.
This session is more committing and enters the bottom section of the Ghyll and also the top Canyon section if it is appropriate to the group and the conditions.

• Parking money or you can use the Ringo App.

We will meet you in the car park where you will change into wetsuits. It is a short 6-7 minute walk from there to the start of the Ghyll.
Spectators - can see the first quarter of the ghyll at which point the path ends and the ghyll is inaccessible as it goes into a canyon. There are loads of walks nearby and cafes in Coniston village which is a short walk away. Please note this is not a dog-friendly activity but there are plenty of walks nearby for spectators to take their furry friends.
