Take a tour of the Cathedral as you have never seen it before and find out more about our ring of bells at this special Bell Tower Open Day.
You will be met by a member of our Bell Tower Ringing Team before climbing the steps to the bell-tower; on the way you'll discover some of the history of the Cathedral and get some magnificent views of the medieval glass in the Eastern window, the Ewan Christian starlight ceiling and the Father Willis organ. Once inside the ringing room you will have a chance to see the bell-ringers in action, learn more about this ancient skill and find out how you could join the team.
Tours last about 1 hour. There are four tours each day, starting at 10:00. Places are limited so booking in advance is advised.
Open Days: Adults £10 / 8 to 16 years FREE
Note that children must be at least 8 years of age and be accompanied by an adult.
There are 137 steps to climb to the bell chamber and the route includes some confined spaces.
