The Elterwater Swimming Adventure – this little corner of the South Lakes is often overlooked by outdoor swimmers but is filled with delightful little places to swim. During this trip, we hope to show you a few of our faves. The walking is as lovely as the swimming and has a rather lowland feel relative to the surrounding fells towering from afar. This adventure swim is an easy-paced and enjoyable day out; suitable for anyone who appreciates the simple love of swimming and walking

As ever, our excellent Swim the Lakes swim guides will be there providing safety cover, local knowledge, and plenty of tea and cake.

2025 Dates: Thursday, 3 July | Wednesday, 6 August

Swim Ability & Fitness Level: Suitable for beginners & intermediate outdoor swimmers who can comfortably swim 1,000m in a pool and who preferably have some outdoor swimming experience. Hiking will be easy-paced over about 4km of undulating and uneven tracks and trails.
