You are here: Home > Things to Do > Gin Making Workshops at Black Cat Distillery
Nestled in the grounds of the beautiful Medieval Hall at Brougham is the home of Black Cat Distillery where the award-winning Black Cat Gin Range is made. Open our doors and embark on a journey into the world of craft distilling by booking on to one of our gin making workshops with us. A warm Cumbrian welcome awaits as we embark on your distilling adventure. The small and cosy size of our workshops (up to four people) allows the distillers to help and guide you through the process of making your own 70cl bottle of hand-crafted artisan Lake District gin. Learning about the history of gin, the story behind the Black Cat and an introduction to the art of distilling will leave you wanting more. We will help and guide you in designing your unique gin recipe, choosing from a wide range of botanicals to create your perfect flavour profile.
Next you will weigh out the ingredients, adding them to your very own mini copper pot still for the day and watch the magic happen. As your gin is bubbling away, we will entice your taste buds with a Cumbrian Charcuterie and Cheese Board and of course there will be plenty of G&T’s for you to enjoy. When your ginny ambrosia is ready, some scientific measurements will need to be made before it is ready to take home in your beautifully labelled 70cl bottle.
Of course, the day does not end there. We all want to sample your gin and bask in your triumph. And there will be some of your gin left for us to try.
Don’t worry we’ll be with you every step of the way.
Cheers!
